General Information:
1. All the players' statistical data is stored on a private server owned by Konami. This means the amount of BPs, cards, wins, losses, etc that you have are stored in that server. The only way for that information to change is to activate it or fulfill a requirement such as obtaining a 7 win streak in GS, or by pressing the OK button to buy your packs, or confirming a trade, etc.
2. There are no such things as FREE BP Generators. Why? Because Konami knows all their BP codes. If someone managed to crack konami's algorithm and actually generate a valid code, it wouldn't take Konami long to find out. Generators cannot hack into Konami's server and trick it to think that you've fulfilled your requirements thus, changing the value of your BPs in their server. So to all you new players who watch those youtube videos about BP/DP hacks, the reason why you see a change is because those hacks that they use only changes what you see on the screen, and not what is stored in the server. Also, generators contain viruses, trojans, keyloggers, etc. So avoid these at all costs because your privacy and your computer's life depends on it.
3. Konami will never send a voluntarily email to you about your account. Konami will only send you a message if they are replying to one of your emails or if you've just bought some BPs. If you ever get an email from Konami about your Yu-Gi-Oh Online account that is not replying to one of your emails or is not an email about the BPs you've just purchased, it is an attempt to "hack" your account.
Account Information:
1. Your account has a specific Inquiry ID that you need. It is the only way for Konami to know if you were the original person who signed up with that account. They also accept examples of previous BP entries. If you've lost your Inquiry ID, then tough luck, you can't recover it.
2. Protect your account by never giving out your log in information to anyone. No one should know your information except you, or someone else that you trust your life with.
3. Never enter your account details on any websites except the main site http://www.yugioh-online.net. To avoid phishing scams, always check the site address in your browser address bar before entering your details.
4. Be wise with your User name and Password. Don't be an idiot and use something simple, such as having the same ID Log in as your account user name and having a simple password like 123456., PASSWORD, Password, P@55W0RD, you get the point. If you ever feel unsafe, go change your password. Your Log in ID however is unchangeable.
In-Game Information:
1. Right now there are no Game Moderators or GM for short. So those players with GM in their names aren't game moderators, and anyone you see who claims to be one is breaking the ToS so screen shot them by pressing the PrntScrn button and opening up paint and pressing the ctrl+v button. Save the picture and contact Konami about it.
2. Duelist Premium is an important status that any user needs. It enables you to duel the NPCs at Kaiba Corp, it allows you to partake in events, and it allows you to partake in user events when it comes out. To get Duelist Premium, you need to purchase 1 BP code, and use it. It lasts for 30 days.
3. In order to duel, you need a deck of at least more than 40 cards. If you do not meet this requirement than you cannot duel. In order to duel NPCs, your deck must meet the Banlist that has been provided by Konami here http://www.yugioh-online.net/v3/pages/fobinext
4. Boosterpasses may be purchased in the specified countries from the main site through paypal, or through credit card. You can also obtain them from shops that sell them as well. Boosterpasses allow you to purchase the things you need in this game, cards and avatar parts.
5. A card's value is determined by its MP (Mileage Point) or BP (Booster Point.)
1 MP = 3 BP. Card values are determined by the general populace through the supply and demand of the card. There is no monopoly involved in determining a card's value. Any card value list that you see anywhere is only a guide and not the actual worth of the card. The actual worth really depends on the individual user. Card values plummet and rise on a daily business so be sure to check with others about what a card's value is.
6. Trading cards are a neat way to get the cards that you want or need. However, be sure to be careful when trading. People can scam you when you trade by changing their cards on the the trade screen when you press the confirm trade button (though this is not a very successful technique in scamming.) Make sure to check if you are getting your card's worth as well.
7. There are a total of 6 events. Duelist Trial (DT), Gunslinger (GS), Evolution (Evo), Ultimate Match (UM), Anniversary Trial (AT), and Yu-Gi-Oh Online Championship (Y.O.C,)
In DT you must earn up to 5 wins to earn your DT set. After you obtain your fifth star, you can purchase the Silver and Gold pack by going to Blister.
In GS you must earn a 7 win streak to obtain your GS set.
There are no information about the other events yet.
In Game Scams
1. The most famous scams are the scams where people ask for more than 20 cards for their trade. The scammer will ask for the 20 cards first and say they will give you their side of the deal at the last trade(s). However, after the first trade, they disconnect, or stay quiet and don't trade you. However when you do see a trade request something like this, it does not ALWAYS mean that the person is a scammer. Always check the scammer lists for their names and always ask the chat lobby
2. BP scams. This scam is famous as well. The scammer will offer up a certain amount of BP codes for a certain number of cards. The scammer will ask for the cards first. However when the scammer gets the cards, they will either give you fake codes, or disconnect. BP trading is not encouraged is not tolerated by Konami. If you trade BPs you are breaking the ToS.
3. Account scams. The scammer will offer an account for some cards. Usually the scammer will trade their account away. However, they can either do 1 of 2 things:
- Take back their account using their Inquiry ID or other proof
- Ask for cards first and not hold up to their end of the deal
Trading accounts is also breaking Konami's ToS and is also highly discouraged. Do not trade accounts.
4. BP/Card Generators/Website scams. These scams can do a number of different things such as getting your Log in info phished, installing viruses, trojans, key loggers, and unwanted programs to your computer. Under no circumstance should you ever download and use these as they will put your computer and everything stored in it at risk to another user.
5. Betdueling scams. This scam is when a user does not hold up to their end of the bargain after the bet duel. Bet duels are also discouraged as it also breaks Konami's ToS. However if you want to duel others, you do not really need to meet the latest restrictions. However, make sure to change your restrictions first.
Well if there's anything I missed, feel free to correct me.
