Currrently available in the January 2012 issue of Shonen Jump is the Yu-gi-Oh card "The Supremecy Sun" This level 10 fiend monster requires 3 tributes to summon but keeps on coming back when it is destroyed during the next standby phase as long as  you discard a card. It requires 3 tributes but with a hefty 3000 attack and defense the cost is well worth it. Thanks to our member TheJeannie50 for bringing this to my attention.

January 30th 2012 Shonen Jump becomes a totally digital medium. You will no longer be able to purchase it in bookstores or other specialty stores. What this spells for the release of their special isuue cards I do not know at the moment but it seems likely that at most you will get a few cards for renewing your annual subscription.

As most of us know already konami started a new season without releasing a new pack like it normally does. The next pack that was supposed to be released was the pack Extreme Victory, it now seems likely that it will not be released at any time this season for 2 reasons.

1. YGO3 aka Duel Accelerator was designed to handle the new cards called synchros. It's programming has probably never been coded to integrate a new type of extra deck card the XYZ monsters. konami is likely 9-12 months away from having a working Beta of a new game (if any). In the meantime it has 1 pack left to release and it is running out of cards in the cureent game's database to release. It has therefore resorted to it's old method of rereleasing old event cards in order to generate intereest and money from the game until it can get the new game running.

2. The new banlist did not include any cards from the next pack. Now it is possible that they don't feel the need to add any of the new cards to the banlist but given the abilities of some of the cards slated for release, that seems very unlikely.
