TRADING CARD GAME Dueling Extravaganza in Amsterdam

El Segundo, CA (August 22, 2011) – After an astounding weekend of exciting matches from the best Duelists that the world has to offer, Takashi Ogawa from Japan triumphed over Kei Murakoshi, his fellow countryman, to earn the title of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) 2011 World Champion. Lee Jong-Hwan from South Korea reached the zenith as the Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game World Champion.

After hundreds of qualifying events over the past year, top Duelists from around the world came equipped with finely tuned Decks and strategies in the pursuit of ultimate victory. 26 Duelists, from 20 countries representing the finest Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME contenders from World Championship Qualifier events across the globe assembled in Amsterdam to battle for Konami’s top Yu-Gi-Oh! honors of the year.

In the final round, Ogawa emerged victorious with his Agent Fairy Deck to defeat Murakoshi, who was playing a Plant Synchro (Junk Doppel) Deck. In the end, Ogawa’s skill and tactics proved too much for Murakoshi as he took home the title of 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Champion.

The weekend also saw the crowning of Lee Jong-Hwan as the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game World Champion. Jong-Hwan out-played Makoto Ito from Japan on the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus for Nintendo DS.
